Introduction to Drawing

Preparation for Drawing the Figure Model

Each class will be limited to 6 students
No prerequisites. The class is designed to teach the novice, as well as bring refined skills to the experienced artist.
Course description: The class is designed to teach the novice, as well as bring refined skills to the experienced artist.
There will be 10 lessons. Each class session will be 2 hours long except the final session which will be 3 hours and will include drawing a professional, nude model. Two sessions offered: Sunday evenings, 6-8, or Monday mornings 9-11. All materials and art supplies included in class fee. Scholarship available. Carolyn will teach an introduction to the fundamentals of figure drawing. Appropriate proportion, structure, line and shading will be presented, demonstrated, and practiced. Reference materials from Charles Bargue's "Drawing Course" will be used.
Please note: The class dates are posted September 22 through December 12th, several weeks longer than 10 weeks needed. I anticipate participating in some week-long plein air painting events this fall and will be out of town: but I won't know exactly which events until summer.

This four-session course covers basic paperfolding techniques,
gives an overview of traditional and modern approaches to origami
design, and leads the student through a sequence of projects.
Diagrams, instructions, and paper will be provided. No prior
paperfolding experience necessary.
