Eira Arrate Hechavarría was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1973. She graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Artes de la Havana in 1991, and lives in Havana, Cuba, where she works as an independent abstract artist and digital photographer. Eira is a registered member of the National Registry of Fine Arts and ADAVIS, Agencia de Artes Visuales. She has collaborated with different publishing houses that specialize in books for children and youth. For the past three years, Eira has participated in a women’s art collective in New Jersey called Cat Fish Friday. Eira’s work is found in private collections and institutions both in Cuba and abroad.
